Welcome to the Town of Glastonbury!
Incorporated in 1693, Glastonbury is one of Connecticut’s oldest municipalities. Located just 10 miles Southeast of Hartford and stretching along 9 miles of the CT River, Glastonbury is regarded as a community that strikes a successful balance of “old” and “new”. Through its historic districts, land preservation, and commitment to economic development, Glastonbury has earned a stellar reputation for its ability to blend picturesque, and traditional settings with a progressive and thriving town center.
The Town of Glastonbury prides itself in its outstanding public education, municipal management, recreational opportunities, and high quality of life. Abundant with parks and recreational spaces, restaurants & cafes, farms, orchards, local attractions, and shopping centers, residents and visitors consider Glastonbury a great place to live, learn, work, play, and do business. The Town continuously seeks opportunities for innovation and improvement and identifies ongoing methods to meet the evolving needs of our diverse community.
To best serve the Glastonbury community, the Town uses a variety of communication platforms to share information about its services, programs, and resources. This website is among these channels and our staff continue to invest significant time and effort in providing a website that is convenient, easy-to-use, and accessible for all residents, businesses, and visitors. As part of our ongoing efforts to provide outstanding customer service, this website offers a number of useful features including intuitive menus, a web-based Citizen Request System, an email subscription system, electronic forms, an events calendar, a timely news section, and a host of valuable resources. We also use this platform to showcase the many amenities and attractions available to community members including the nationally recognized Riverfront Park, extensive programming, annual community events such as the Santa’s Run Road Race and Summer Music Series, and the nationally accredited Riverfront Senior and Community Center. Residents and visitors are encouraged to subscribe to our email notification system to stay in-the-know on these opportunities and all things Glastonbury by visiting www.glastonburyct.gov/enotify.
We hope you view this website as a valuable resource and useful platform to stay connected with the Town. We will continue to update the website and evaluate additional opportunities to improve its features and functionality as new technologies are introduced to provide premier customer service to our community members.
