How Can We Help You?

Our Services

The Building Inspection/Zoning Enforcement Division is responsible for the review and issuance of permits for all types of construction including structural, electrical, heating and plumbing. Inspection services are provided throughout construction up to the issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy. Building and Zoning complaints are investigated and cease and desist orders will be issued when necessary. The Division also conducts joint code inspections with the Fire Marshal Division and manages the activities of the Zoning Board of Appeals. Citizens filing a complaint should provide their full name and contact information to help expedite remediation.  While the Division will make its best effort to address anonymous complaints that are deemed to be matters of immediate life safety, acting without a verified source limits our response capabilities and often delays resolution.  To submit a complaint request with the Building Department, click here to access Glastonbury's Citizen Request System.
